About the role
- As the HR Generalist at Nucleus Biologics™, you will assist the full company and report into the CEO. This individual will sit on-site at our headquarters location.
- For this role you will be HR team of 1, handling a little under 50 employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Acquisition:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine current and future staffing needs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies and stay up to date on industry trends and requirements techniques
- Utilize various sourcing channels such as job boards, social media, professional networks and industry events to identity talent
- Source and screen qualified candidates and manage candidate pipeline to ensure positive candidate experience throughout recruitment process
- Coordinate interviews with hiring teams and conduct reference checks
- Collaborate with finance and management to negotiate job offers and finalize employment agreements
- Manage TA process on applicant tracking system
Human Resources:
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns and conflicts.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters
- Conduct investigations and manage employee disciplinary actions as necessary
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and recommend strategies or improving employee satisfaction and retention
- Plan company meetings and events, present on HR topics and updates during all company meetings. Coordinate and order food for audits and company events/meetings.
- Implement with management employee 365-reviews for performance management, including goal setting, assessments and feedback sessions.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related issues.
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans and monitor performance trends and gaps
- Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
- Communicate policies to employees and provide training as needed
- Utilize HRIS system and other systems to maintain accurate employee data and generate reports
- Stay up to date with federal, state and local labor laws and regulations
- Manage the overall administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, dental, retirement plans, and other benefits.
- Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquires related to benefits programs and communicate benefit information to employees, including plan details, eligibility requirements and enrollment deadlines.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new hires and facilitate open enrollment meetings
IT/Office Support:
- Manage and store all laptops and company equipment and assign equipment to new hires
- Create tickets through IT portal for onboarding and offboarding employees’ laptops and Microsoft accounts
- Assist in the implementation of security measures and backup procedures. Attend weekly meetings with IT support team
- Organize training sessions to educate users on basic IT procedures and best practices
- Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets. Track inventory and order new equipment as needed.
- Order office supplies as needed for full company, answer front door of headquarters building and sign for inbound packages.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
BS/BA in business , HR or related degree
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years’ experience in HR and Talent Acquisition, experience in life science industry is a plus
- Experience onboarding and offboarding employees and the full recruitment process from opening a job requisition to offer negotiations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Proficiency in HRIS system, applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of local, state and federal labor laws and regulations
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to hear and speak to employees and external associates on the phone and in person.
- Ability to walk and/or drive between buildings on campus, up to .3 miles for San Diego based positions
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- May require travel to and from Nucleus Biologics offices or customer/vendor locations based on position.

The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 80,000 USD per year(San Diego, CA)
