Basic Job Functions :
The role of the Chief Met Supervisor includes but is not limited to ensuring we're providing our customers with a high-quality product that meets or exceeds their expectations. Thus, this role is instrumental in leading quality improvement initiatives, new product development, providing guidance and leadership to our metallurgist teammates, oversight of our process & product metallurgy which includes product & process improvement, problem-solving projects, and the operation / maintenance of analytical equipment throughout the facility. Other functions may include assisting with the development and optimization of our operating procedures, minimizing variability in the steelmaking process, developing grades for specialized applications, providing training to teammates, and providing metallurgical assistance to all Nucor teammates and customers. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications :
- BS degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or a related engineering discipline.
