Basic Job Functions :
Responsibilities for the Shipping Supervisor include but are not limited to :
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- A commitment to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity, and profitability through leadership throughout the division.
- Overseeing the safe operations of shipping metal building components as prescribed by specifications and order releases.
- Managing logistics, carrier relationships, freight costs, and delivery schedules to ensure a low cost and on time deliveries.
- Familiarity of machinery and material handling processes for each aspect within the department.
- Communications within the group to ensure solid teamwork and a productive work environment.
- Reviewing teammate performance and determining coaching needs through evaluating and providing consistent performance reviews and setting expectations during coaching or growth & development sessions.
- Interviewing, hiring, and accountability decisions for teammates within the group.
- Travel with short notice. To best-mark with other Nucor divisions to improve our services, quality, products, and competitiveness.
