Basic Job Functions :
Nucor Tubular Products (NTP) has an opening for the position of Environmental Engineer. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for interactions with regulatory agencies, demonstrating compliance with permits, rules and regulations, as well as process improvement projects in the waste water treatment plant. Additional duties include taking a lead role in environmental compliance at multiple facilities, ISO 14001 management, project management, training, maintaining required plans, and community outreach programs. As a Nucor facility, a focus of the position is looking for opportunities to improve our operations, culture and environmental footprint. The Environmental Engineer will be report to the EHS Supervisor and be a part of multiple teams within Nucor : Cedar Springs EHS, NTP Group Environmental and Nucor Environmental Engineer Team. The Environmental Engineer will be primarily responsible for the Cedar Springs facility, but may be a resource for multiple tubular facilities and operations. Positive interaction with teammates to promote a positive environmental and safety culture is required.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications :
Four-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, preferably environmental, chemical or civil, or a similar environmental program. Three (3 ) years of experience in environmental compliance, air pollution control, waste management and / or wastewater treatment operations. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, EPCRA, DOT, and hazardous waste).
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in environmental compliance in a manufacturing or other industrial environment. Experience with implementation and maintenance of an ISO14001 or equivalent EMS.
