Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Texas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accountant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: (1) Assisting with the month end close procedures (2) Preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (3) Preparing, reviewing, and submitting financial reporting to divisions and Corporate (4) Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision making (5) Maintaining and continuously improving the internal control structure.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions including general ledger, fixed assets, sales tax, financial and compliance reporting, assisting with annual budget, variance and trend analysis, treasury management including daily cash reconciliations and cash forecasting, payroll reconciliation and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc. This position will also take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control and system improvements; supervision of external and internal audit processes and ensuring that proper internal controls are maintained; and providing analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and driving continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5 years’ performing financial close and reporting experience in accordance with GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, Master’s degree in accounting or business.
- Manufacturing Accounting experience.
- Oracle EBS experience.
- Experience with data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Proven ability to create insightful financial reports and dashboards.
- Willing to relocate for future job opportunities within Nucor.
