What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - Build a Better Life Program position at Nuestra Senora De La Vivienda Community Foundation?
The Nuestra Señora De La Vivienda (NSDV) Community Foundation, in partnership with the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, is seeking a multilingual (Spanish-speaking) professional to work full-time as the Director of the Build A Better Life Program for the planned housing community of Monarca, located in Immokalee, FL.
The anticipated start date is January 6, 2025.
Monarca will be a 50-acre affordable rental housing community in Immokalee, FL, serving this region's low socio-economic population. When completed, Monarca will offer the following:
- One hundred seventy-nine three and four-bedroom single-family homes for rent.
- A neighborhood Community Center and Recreation Area for events and community programming.
- A 3-acre site for future development purposes for the community.
- An oversized vehicle parking lot for the residents’ large trucks and trailers.
- Plus, there will be a Build A Better Life Program, with full—time multilingual staff dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Monarca.
Site development is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025. Phase I construction of 64 homes is expected to commence in the winter of 2025-2026.
JOB SUMMARY
This position works directly with the Executive Director of Nuestra Señora De La Vivienda Community Foundation to develop and build up the Build A Better Life Program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Executive Director and create criteria for resident candidacy.
- Assist the Executive Director and create a lottery system to determine who residents will be.
- Assist the Executive Director in creating the curriculum for the various classes to be offered and mandated as a part of the lease agreement, i.e., computer literacy, civics, banking, advanced financial literacy, household literacy, household management, driving and vehicles, medical and health care, health and wellness, and living in southwest Florida.
- Hire and oversee two to three full-time community liaison staff members dedicated to improving the quality of life for the residents of Monarca through the BBL program (One must speak fluent Creole).
- Compile data and content for the NSDV Community Foundation and Pulte Family Charitable Foundation board meetings.
- Assist the Foundation in the outreach, marketing, and communication efforts.
- This role will encompass a diverse range of possibilities, and you may be required to take on an additional task that aligns with the overall objectives of the positions and the organization.
OTHER JOB NOTABLES
- Be willing to work in the office or the field in Immokalee Monday -Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Find and set up an office in Immokalee for Nuestra Señora.
- Become a member of the various organizations we currently are members of and build relationships.
- Attend evening meetings as necessary.
- Establish relationships with local Churches.
- Plan public events.
- Become the full-time Ambassador of the Foundation.
- Be comfortable working in a family-directed environment and working with the principles of the organization.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Based on a minimum 40-hour work week, the initial annualized base salary will be a minimum of $140,000, with an opportunity for a bonus based on achieving the annual objectives.
This position is exempt, which means you are paid for the job and not by the hour. Accordingly, you will not receive overtime pay. Your salary is intended to compensate you for all hours worked.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- 5 years of experience in project or program management roles.
- Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently.
- Exceptional organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects across multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional ability to self-manage, follow through, and show attention to detail.
