**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teacher Assistant to support a substitute teacher during the classroom teacher’s maternity leave. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day classroom activities, ensure that students are engaged and supported in their learning, and help maintain a positive, productive classroom environment. This position will provide a valuable opportunity to work closely with students and educators during this transitional period.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the substitute teacher in delivering lesson plans and classroom activities according to the established curriculum.
- Support students with various learning needs, ensuring they are actively engaged and understanding the material.
- Help manage classroom behavior, ensuring students adhere to school rules and policies.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need additional help with assignments or tasks.
- Monitor students during transitions, breaks, and lunch to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Maintain accurate records of student behavior, progress, and any other relevant classroom information.
- Assist with classroom setup and organization, including distributing materials and preparing supplies.
- Provide support with classroom activities such as grading assignments, facilitating group work, or supervising independent work.
- Communicate effectively with the substitute teacher, students, and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom.

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude in working with students.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior and provide guidance to students as needed.
