Nuevo Sendero, Inc. is a public 501(c)3 non-profit organization established in 2007, with our headquarters in Orlando, Florida. The organization is primarily supported through volunteers and contributions from local supporters in our community. We are dedicated to promoting and maintaining public awareness of domestic violence, sexual abuse and family relationships. These services are provided through education, family counseling, workshops and other special programs to the families and youth in our community.
We primarily work with Hispanic families of diverse backgrounds in several communities in Orange, Osceola and Volusia Counties.

Essential Tasks / Responsibilities:
- Provide information and assistance to survivors regarding their legal rights and options.
- Assist clients with filing protection orders, restraining orders, and other legal documents.
- Support clients through court processes, including accompanying them to court hearings and legal appointments.
- Liaise with attorneys and other legal professionals on behalf of clients.
- Stay informed about local, state, and federal laws related to domestic violence and sexual abuse.
- Conduct intake assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized service plans.
- Coordinate and monitor services for clients, including legal assistance, counseling, housing, and financial aid.
- Provide emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.
- Advocate for clients’ needs and facilitate access to community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential case records and documentation.
- Educate clients about their legal rights and options in a trauma-informed manner.
- Offer workshops or informational sessions on legal topics related to domestic violence and sexual abuse.
- Collaborate with community organizations, legal entities, and social service providers to enhance client support networks.
- Work closely with the program team to ensure comprehensive client support.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions.
- Prepare and submit reports on case progress, program outcomes, and other relevant metrics as required.
- Contribute to program development and policy advocacy efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, legal studies, or a related field. Master’s degree or legal training is a plus.
- Minimum of [3] years of experience in legal advocacy, case management, or a related field, preferably with a focus on domestic violence and sexual abuse.
- Knowledge of appropriate software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
- Commitment to providing trauma-informed care and supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
- Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
Work Environment/Conditions:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Onsite required.
- Occasional workshop / community outreach event participation
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
