What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Decorator On call Dayshift position at Nugget Casino Resort?
FUNCTION:
Decorate all bake shop items for presentation in restaurants, banquet events, and other food related venues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Frost and decorate all cakes, cookies, breads, and pastries as assigned in a timely manner with consistency.
2. Assist the pastry chef to ensure all tasks are being completed to proper specifications and standards when the pastry chef is not present
3. Posses’ knowledge, learn, understand, and execute consistently the Nugget Casino Resorts standards and portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality of baked items.
4. Adhere to all sanitation, kitchen rules, recipe policies and procedures.
5. Ability to follow recipes and use formulas to accurately produce baked goods. Possess a basic understanding of baking techniques and their execution.
6. Advanced knowledge of color coordination, symmetry, icing, chocolate making, and fondant.
7. Assist the Pastry Chef and Assistant Pastry Chef regarding special functions and project preparation.
8. Ability to understand and complete production sheets.
9. Identify and properly operate bakery kitchen equipment including ovens, mixers, sheeter, dough divider, gelato machine, proofer.
10. Work within a team and effectively communicate with management, chefs, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and fellow team members.
11. Ability to work scheduled shift with the appropriate mobility and endurance including standing for the entire shift. Able to use repetitive hand motions, grasping and holding.
12. Using the Nugget’s system of recognition, recognize team members who are going “above and beyond.”
13. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
14. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
15. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
16. Always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
17. Regular predictable attendance is required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to procure required tools and learn and understand the Nugget Casino’s equipment used to decorate.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
EDUCATION LEVEL:
High School diploma or equivalent is required
LANGUAGE:
Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years baking and pastry experience required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Ability to work in a loud, fast paced environment while performing multiple tasks that are time sensitive.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
Save Serve Food Handling Certificate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time. Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
