Warehouse Associates at Independent Electric are responsible for keeping our warehouse running to meet customer needs. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be responsible for coordinating projects around the warehouse. This may mean that you organize stock, work on inventory, pull orders for customers, or fill in while another associate is enjoying a day off. WHAT YOU WILL DO :

Load, unload, and move materials from storage to staging sites and / or designated areas per each sales ticket.
Use work orders and verbal instructions to assemble materials and containers which need to be picked, moved, or staged.
Use Eclipse to confirm picking and staging of materials, ensuring proper piece count for drivers and customers.
Load materials onto vehicles and properly secure cargo.
Unload incoming vehicles, prepare necessary receiving documents, and receive the materials.
Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Perform regular counting of inventory, including running off wire and inspecting items for damage.
Communicate when supply inventory levels are low.
Other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills :

Knowledge of safety practices, and wears PPE as assigned.

Ability to operate hand tools including wire cutting equipment.

Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Must be Forklift Operation Certified after hire.

Knowledge of cargo securement techniques, chains, binders, straps, ropes, knots, plastic wrap, and cargo dunnage used.

Strong mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including fractions and decimals.

Must be able to read and interpret invoices and packing slips.

Strong communication skills both orally and in writing. Able to present information to management, customers, vendors, employees, and the public.

Problem-solving skills including collecting and presenting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to solve practical problems where only limited information and standardization exists.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is preferred.

Required Experience :

High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D), or 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

At least six months of experience in a warehouse environment is required, but two to four years of experience in a related warehouse or distribution environment is preferred.

OTHER DETAILS :

Typical environment is a general warehouse environment; but may include offices, light industrial, commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Will include outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
