Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef to join our leadership team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen, from menu development to staff management, ensuring the highest level of consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and a passion for creating extraordinary food.

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management:

  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and training of kitchen staff.
  • Develop and maintain effective schedules for kitchen personnel.
  • Ensure productivity, consistency, and adherence to high standards across the team.
  • Conduct annual staff reviews and provide mentorship for professional growth.
  • Control labor costs while maintaining high standards of service and kitchen efficiency.

Menu Development & Execution:

  • Drive seasonal menu changes that reflect the freshest ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Ensure consistency and quality control across all dishes, maintaining Nura's reputation for excellence.
  • Design specialty menus for events, holidays, and unique occasions.
  • Oversee food cost management, maintaining profitability while delivering high-quality offerings.

Administrative & Operational Oversight:

  • Manage vendor relationships, including cost negotiation and controlling purchasing expenses.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring efficient ordering and storage of dry goods and perishables.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive waste management system.
  • Ensure compliance with DOH standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization within all kitchen spaces.
  • Oversee space and equipment maintenance (including hood, grease traps, refrigeration, hot appliances).
  • Foster seamless communication and coordination with the Front of House (FOH) team.
  • Lead regular End-of-Day (EOD) debriefings to ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in staff training and development.
  • Expertise in menu development, cost control, and maintaining high food quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to sustainability and quality in food sourcing.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
