Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance client well-being.
- Help with meal preparation and nutritional needs while ensuring a clean living environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Support clients in mobility and transportation to appointments or social activities.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behavior.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients, including those requiring hospice or nursing home services.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home community care, senior care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of patient care principles and direct support methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a safe environment for clients.
