Overview of the Role:
The Family/Internal Medicine Physician will be a vital contributor to a healthcare team, providing patient-centered care, conducting physical exams, and formulating diagnoses. This role is a unique opportunity to influence patient outcomes and engage in meaningful patient education, advocating for community wellness. You will play a crucial role in supervising and mentoring medical staff, ensuring high standards of patient care, and fostering a collaborative work environment through quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed patient histories and physical exams.
- Assess clinical status and manage care plans.
- Order and perform laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Administer treatments and medications per medical standards.
- Educate patients on health, wellness, and illness prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement, training, and peer reviews.
- Supervise and mentor Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) and support staff.
- Review and update clinical protocols; maintain accurate medical records.
- Provide after-hour call coverage and contribute to site committees.
- Address and resolve patient and co-worker concerns.
- Assist in updating clinical protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
- Completion of medical school and residency.
- Current California medical license, Board Certification, DEA, and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in diverse settings.
- Preferred supervisory experience with APCs and allied health personnel.
- Ability to manage challenges fairly and consistently.
