Position Overview
As a Section Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing one section of the laboratory, ensuring that all technical procedures are performed accurately, and managing the maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment. You will supervise laboratory personnel, ensure high-quality control standards, and help maintain compliance with regulatory standards. This is a vital role in supporting our commitment to exceptional care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a section of the laboratory, ensuring adherence to high standards of technical procedures and quality control.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards in the lab.
- Promote a caring and professional work environment in line with the hospital’s mission and philosophy.
- Take part in training, development, and performance evaluation of lab staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biological Science, or related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Licensing: Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license. ASCP Registry is recommended.
- Skills: Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Must be able to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and good vision/hearing perception.
