Service Unit Department Manager RN

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Nurse Manager to lead our ambulatory services team. In this role, you will be responsible for the direction, supervision, and evaluation of patient care provided by nursing personnel across multiple units 1. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients receive high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care in compliance with all regulatory requirements 1.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of a large ambulatory unit or multiple units, ensuring the highest quality of patient care and compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission standards, and all federal, state, and local regulations 1.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish and maintain patient care and quality service standards, exceeding the expectations of both patients and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a patient advocate, effectively resolving patient care issues and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Design and evaluate processes to continuously improve systems and patient care outcomes across the continuum of care.
- Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations to ensure financial performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Determine the optimal staff mix for the department, and implement effective processes for screening, interviewing, hiring, training, and maintaining the competency of all staff. Provide ongoing staff development and mentorship.
- Manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
- Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and business objectives.
- Collaborate with the Physician Team Leader and Department Chief to optimize patient services and day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles (Non-Negotiable).
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience (Non-Negotiable).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a health-related field, OR four (4) years of directly related experience.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in California (Non-Negotiable).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Additional Requirements:
- PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be required for positions in specific departments.
- Thorough knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an outpatient care setting.
- Clinical specialization in the area of practice.
- Master's degree.
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging.
Skills and Certifications:
- Experience in Interventional Radiology and Medical Imaging.
- CA RN license (Required).
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles (Required).
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience (Required).
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Salary: $180,500 to $216,946 per year
- Additional Variable Compensation: Yes. 10% annual bonus target. Sign-on bonus.
