Position Title: Kentucky Medication Aide Instructor

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Kentucky Medication Aide Instructor to join our team and play a vital role in the education of future medication aides. **Position Overview:** The Kentucky Medication Aide Instructor will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training to students enrolled in the Medication Aide program. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical , and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Instruction and Curriculum Development:** - Teach Medication Aide courses, covering both theoretical concepts and practical skills necessary for safe medication administration. - Develop, review, and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessments to ensure compliance with state regulations and industry standards. - **Clinical Skills Training:** - Facilitate hands-on training sessions in medication administration techniques, including dosage calculations, medication safety, and patient monitoring. - Provide guidance and feedback to students during clinical practice to ensure proficiency in required skills. - **Student Support and Evaluation:** - Assess student performance through exams, skills assessments, and clinical evaluations, providing constructive feedback to foster improvement. - Offer academic support and mentorship to students throughout the program. - **Collaboration and Professional Development:** - Collaborate with faculty, staff, and program directors to enhance the Medication Aide program and ensure it meets the needs of students and the healthcare community. - Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and community outreach initiatives. - **Compliance and Accreditation:** - Ensure adherence to state regulations and accreditation standards for Medication Aide education programs. - Assist in preparing for program reviews and accreditation assessments. **Qualifications:** - **Education:** - Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Kentucky or a multistate license. - **Experience:** - Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience, with at least one (1) year of experience in a long-term care (LTC) setting. - Previous teaching or training experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. - **Skills:** - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. - Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems (LMS). - Knowledge of current healthcare practices, regulations, and best practices in medication administration. **Working Conditions:** - The position may require working in both classroom and clinical settings. - Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary, including evenings or weekends.
