What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bilingual Family Partner for Family Child Care Agency position at Nurtury?
General Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Family Services (dotted line reporting to the FCC Regional Director), the FCC Family Partner is responsible for the Family Engagement component of Nurtury’s Family Child Care network. The FCC Family Partner serves as the primary liaison between families and FCC Educators in order to provide additional direct supports as needed, as well as the facilitation of developmental goal setting plans. This position serves as the main point of contact between Nurtury and family engagement resource partners within the community.
Essential Functions:
- Establishes and maintains relationships with appropriate service providers and community agencies.
- Provides weekly resources and referral services to all families.
- Directly assists families in navigating referral processes such as with: Early Intervention, Public School Systems, and/or Hospitals.
- Point person for outside family engagement partnerships such as: The Basics and Cradles to Crayons, along with any other partnerships Nurtury builds.
- Acts as a liaison between FCC Educators and Families when developmental concerns arise and assists in the development of a cooperative action plan together with family and educator, if necessary.
- Performs developmental evaluations such as: ASQ’s/ASQ-SE’s for all children newly enrolled and as needed.
- Complete standard administrative and statistical reports as needed.
- Performs visits to FCC Educator’s programs as it pertains to: in person child evaluations, resource drop offs, parent conferences, etc.
- Facilitates and supports parent trainings, education, self-sufficiency, and other related activities.
- Attends and represents Nurtury during community network meetings within the field.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required to Perform the Essential Functions:
- Associate’s degree in related field preferred, or relevant years of experience

Experience in one or more of the following:
- working with families of underprivileged socio-economic backgrounds
- working with multicultural populations
- familiarity with educational or child care settings
- knowledge of services and resources available to families within the community
- Strong knowledge of Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or related Human Service field required
- Sensitivity to and experience with handling confidential information and interactions, interacting in a culturally appropriate and responsive manner with a wide range of individuals, and navigating within and across different teams and levels of an organization
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Computer efficiency with MS Office, internet/e-mail/virtual meeting systems
- Experience with child evaluation systems such as: ASQ/ASQ-SE
- Some local travel required
- Bi-lingual, written and verbal required (Spanish/English)
