POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the Plant Startup and Services organization and reporting to the department Supervisor, the person in this position will play a key role in in the development and execution of an innovative construction and commissioning integration strategy that will provide the framework for the Online and Outage Maintenance programs for a NuScale power plant. In addition, the person in this position will support the development of an efficient Work Management strategy and plan that is optimized and unique to a NuScale power plant. The successful candidate will also influence the design of special tooling and equipment required to support the refueling and remote handling of the NuScale Power Module. The successful candidate will also work closely with other SROs and Engineering to develop regulatory required operational programs like ISI, IST, M-Rule, Valve Testing, etc.

The target pay range for this position is $150,537 - $181,682 annually.The full pay range is $134,964 - $211,098.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Has broad nuclear facility maintenance and operating engineering experience in multiple areas or depth and expertise of nuclear power plant operational principles, techniques, and practices to support Standard Design Application (SDA), Combined Operating License Application (COLA), and construction / commissioning integration strategy. This includes the following areas: Work Management, Work Planning, Maintenance Planning, Strategic Maintenance Planning (preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and run to failure), On Line Maintenance, Refuel Outage Maintenance, and Concept of Maintenance and Operations.
- Able to effectively influence decision making within the Engineering and Plant Startup and Services organization.
- Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and innovation.
- Exercises judgment within broadly defined policies and practices using professional principles and company objectives to resolve complex issues.
- Plans, organizes, and performs innovative and complex maintenance and operations engineering assignments on a team dedicated to the development of maintenance, operations and engineering projects.
- Able to manage large projects and complete tasks with minimal oversight from leadership. Acts independently to determine or develop methods and procedures on new or special assignments, informs strategic conversations, and leads tactical ones.
- Interacts with management and other organizations on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Presents technical information concerning NuScale projects to the NRC and other stakeholders on behalf of NuScale.
- Mentors and trains others in sound approaches and standards for solving problems in technical areas of expertise.

- Education: Minimum of a B.S. degree in a technical field is required . Alternatively, an additional 5 years of directly applicable nuclear plant experience (15 years total), may be considered in lieu of a degree . Current/recent NRC issued SRO license is highly desirable.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of commercial nuclear power plant or Navy nuclear operating experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 8 years of commercial nuclear power plant experience specifically in Maintenance is required. Experience with FIN Team and QA are also desirable.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers.
- Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment.
- The employee frequently is required; to sit and stand; walk; bend, use hands to operate office equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation.
