The Case Manager works in a highly visible, strong team environment to provide exceptional customer service on all levels (internally and externally). Specifically, educate / update Oncology Account Managers / Field Sales, National Account Directors (NADs), Specialty Pharmacy partners, patients / caregivers and Healthcare Providers (HCPs), interpreting their specific needs and providing friendly, professional, and well-informed answers to their questions. The Case Manager will work with insurance companies to understand and manage all steps required to gain access to therapy. The role will assist the Oncology Nurse Advocates at the Hub maintain relationships with patients, caregivers and physicians to ensure ongoing compliance with therapy. - Work closely with patients, caregivers, HCPs and insurance carriers throughout the patient journey to reduce / remove barriers to access therapy
- Proactively review all active patient cases to increase time-to-fill opportunities
- Facilitate frequent calls with HUB, NADs, Field Sales, and Specialty Pharmacy Partners to understand patient journey and access to therapy status
- Triage, troubleshoot and resolve initial and on-going reimbursement issues (PAs, denials, appeals, reauthorizations, overrides, billing problems)
- Acts as the liaison with office personnel and insurance companies to resolve complex coverage issues
- Partner with Commercial Operations and Data Analytics to proactively identify and assess trends.
- Serve as the liaison between the HUB and all Nuvation Bio internal teams (ex : Field Sales, NADs, etc)
- Communicate with internal and external partners to ensure seamless case coordination and patient access to therapy
- Communicate with key medical practice accounts, field sales representatives and Specialty Pharmacy vendor(s) regarding the status of cases
- Ensure all actions, and those of his / her team both internally and through vendors working on our behalf, are compliant with all laws, regulations and policies and demonstrate Nuvation Bio values

- Bachelor's degree required (business / healthcare administration of life sciences preferred)
- 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- 3 years of prior HUB, reimbursement and / or case management experience
- Experience supporting oral oncolytics via multiple distribution channels
- Prior reimbursement experience with the ability to research, resolve and communicate complex reimbursement scenarios to patients, care partners and HCPs
- Experience with understanding benefits, access and coverage policies across various health insurance providers (commercial and government)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve and manage communication with Oncology Nurses and Field Sales across multiple geographies and time zones
- Cross-functional matrix collaboration to foster case resolution and pull through
- Possess and portray strong emotional intelligence, positive attitude and exceptional listening skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail and excellent analytical, investigation, and critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of various Healthcare Plan types (Commercial, Managed Care, ACA, Government (specifically Medicare Part D)
- Computer Proficiency; specifically strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint software applications
- Strong data entry skills required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional customer service and resolution skills
- Ability to handle sensitive PHI information
- Knowledge of HCPCS and ICD-10 coding
