Full-time Program Managers annual salary is $87,500 plus incentives up to $10,000 annually.

Position Overview
The Program Manager is responsible for the management of daily operations within residential or outpatient treatment programs serving men and women with co-occurring mental health and addiction issues. The Program Manager ensures the program’s activities meet the specified service objectives as specified by state (DHS 245G) and federal regulations to support achievement of effective personal development; this may include working with clients individually and in group settings to identify and resolve issues including substance use, mental health, personal and/or emotional and family issues. The Program Manager provides support to the Program Directors of 245G clinics and provides supervision and oversite to the direct service counseling team ensuring treatment quality and compliance within the scope of NUWAY’s mission. The Program Manager may also carry a limited caseload of clients. The Program Manager must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provision of oversight for day to day programming and staff needs to ensure the delivery of patient services.
- Ensure that all program needs and counselor shifts are filled; oversight of counselors time away from work to ensure coverage needs are met. This may include providing coverage of counselor services/groups in the absence of other staff
- Coordinate with compliance staff for regular chart audits including feedback and education delivery to clinical staff
- Coordination with Admissions Department regarding daily admissions/assignments
- Compliance of Program in regards to MN 245A and 245G, Statutes: 626.556, 626.557, 625.5572 and federal regulations
- Assistance with proprietary oversight of facility and physical plant to ensure high quality of treatment environment
- Assistance with reporting on defined clinic metrics and feedback to counselors regarding performance/client compliance/outcomes
- Staff Management including interviewing, hiring, performance management, annual reviews, staff development/training, mandatory training
- Interview potential intern candidates
- Keep director apprised of “best practice” approaches in the delivery of service to residential and outpatient clients
- Attend in-service training sessions sufficient to meet professional requirements along with participation in regular site-specific meetings with or for the Program Director
- Keep abreast of rules and changes in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment field
- Maintain membership and participation in other related professional organizations
- Be available to represent the organization outside the facility at community outreach events as needed
- Conduct oneself in a manner that presents a positive reflection on your professionalism as an asset to the image of the organization
- Consult with staff for urgent mental health needs of clients
- Provide culturally sensitive and relevant services to diverse clients and their families
- For Residential: Responsible for after-hours consultation related to client milieu and to ensure client and staff safety
- Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in a related degree, or licensure as a registered nurse
- Current LADC license required
- Age 18 or older
- At least 3 or more years of experience providing individual and group counseling to individuals with substance use disorder
- Previous counseling or counseling internship as well as demonstrated leadership working with professional and support staff in a recovery environment
- Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study
- Must be free of problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding employment and must sign a statement attesting to that fact
- High degree of computer literacy including experience using an electronic health records (EHR) system
- Excellent written, communication, customer service, and case management skills
- Possess maturity, patience, understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated working knowledge in the field of substance use disorder and/or mental health, in an addiction treatment facility
- Physical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time. Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment. Lifting (max 25 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively navigate program and office environment such as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and accessing program/office facilities.
- Proficiently understand, follow instructions, and communicate effectively in English. Able to effectively document services in writing formatted in English.
Preferred:
- ADDITIONAL LICENSES: LP, LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, Independent Mental Health License
- Minimum of 2 years field and supervisory experience preferred
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification obtained
- Skilled consultant and facilitator
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, investigation and mediation skills
