NV5 is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Structural Engineer to join our team in New York City. This role will primarily focus on bridge-related projects, providing an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and rewarding assignments. As part of our team, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to the design and analysis of complex bridge structures, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and analysis of bridge structures.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Develop and refine critical analytical and design competencies essential for structural engineering projects.
- Execute complex engineering design tasks under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Produce precise designs, intricate calculations, detailed sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
- Gather and conduct thorough analysis of critical data.
- Utilize advanced computer software as a tool for solving sophisticated engineering problems.
- Adhere strictly to established budgets and schedules, ensuring project milestones are met with utmost professionalism.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Successfully passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, and structural analysis programs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment.

The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
