Overview
SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating all medical surgical procedures. This position will also be responsible for acting as the main point of contact with our Ambulatory Surgery Center by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the patients through the process from initial consultation to the completion of the surgery.
Schedules patients for medical procedures/surgeries.
Provides patients with pre-op counseling.
Audits all surgery charts to ensure accuracy of lens, eye, procedure, special instructions.
Acts as the main point of contact with our Ambulatory Surgery Center and send chart information in a timely manner.
Calls surgery center to inform of add on patients and cancellations.
Verifies all insurances and obtain authorization prior to surgery date.
Follow up as needed to ensure medical clearances are obtained by patient prior to surgery.
Communicates consistently with OD’s who co-manage patients.
Ensures all patient questions are answered and phone calls are returned.
Reviews drop regimen, consents, and surgery instructions according to NVISION protocols and forms.
Provides a warm and engaging atmosphere to instill confidence in our patients and create an exceptional experience.
Functions as a team with the rest of the office and assist with LASIK scheduling, front desk, and other admin. functions
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
2 years experience as a scheduler in a medical setting (Ophthalmology preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent
