SEC Accountant

NVR Inc. is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join our accounting team as a SEC Accountant.  From our Corporate Office in Reston, VA, you will be responsible for SEC Reporting and Corporate Accounting. 

SEC Reporting responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the preparation of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy Statement and Annual Report, including preparing or reviewing all disclosure schedules and reports for compliance with SEC and FASB rules and regulations
• Preparation of required Section 16 reports (Forms 3, 4, 5) and Form 144 for the reporting of Executive Officer and Director stock transactions
• Assisting with research and the implementation of new, pending and existing SEC regulations and FASB pronouncements and interpretations on a Company wide basis
• Continuous monitoring of industry developments with respect to new FASB pronouncements and SEC regulations for potential application relative to NVR

Corporate Accounting responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of the NVR, Inc. consolidation each month
• Assisting with financial reporting for the retirement plans
• Special projects like supporting the company’s outside CPAs in connection with annual audits and corporate reviews

Skills that Will Help You Excel and Grow at NVR:

• Accounting Experience – 1-2 years of experience in Public Accounting or in a corporate SEC reporting role, CPA a plus.
• Attention to Detail – as you can imagine, accuracy and efficiency is of utmost importance in this role.  Strong planning and organization will aid in your success in this role.
• Team Player - successful NVR employees are open to taking on some additional responsibility and stepping up to handle challenges that they may not have previous experience in handling.    We are looking for candidates that will embrace those situations and have a thirst for knowledge.
