Requirements
- Strong sales orientation to build relationships and promote growth within the branch. Networks within the community, participating in events, promoting appropriate products and services to increase awareness of the Credit Union within the marketplace and the community.
- Supervises branch operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work and to provide consistent quality service to members.
- Provides ongoing staff training in the areas of procedural changes, new developments or services and general information.
- Maintains and enforces proper security of cash drawers, negotiable instruments, vault cash and branch premises.
- Provides neat, well organized, well stocked branch facility so that staff can readily have forms available to provide service to members in an efficient, timely manner.
- Maintains vault cash. Orders cash as needed to maintain vault at predetermined amount. Disburses and receives cash from branch tellers. Receives and verifies cash shipment from Federal Reserve Bank.
- Provides routine information on credit union services, policies, membership eligibility, type of credit union accounts, loan policies and current rates on loans, savings and CD’s. Cross sells services and products to members.
- Investigates, analyzes and resolves complaints, errors and problems on members’ accounts. Provides high degree of member-conscious service with the latitude to waive fees and make exceptions with discretion.
- Performs all types of monetary/non-monetary transactions within established limits to prevent fraud and losses. Maintains and balances assigned cash drawer daily and follows security procedures and assigned cash limits.
- Recognizes members’ needs to proactively open, maintain and update all Personal, Business, Trust, Deceased and other special accounts, process Debit, Line of Credit and Visa products and refer members to other loan services and investment services. Close these services upon request.
- Interviews loan applicants in person, online and by telephone, gathering required information for credit applications, explaining loan options, rates, terms and collateral requirements.
- Approves/declines loans to a predetermined loan limit set by the CEO.
- Types loan documents and disburses funds. Enters loan information into computer and organizes loan documents in members file.
- Participates with the board of directors and the management team in the strategic planning process for the Credit Union.
- Responsible for complying with all laws, statutes, rules and regulations which govern the credit union, including but not limited to all components of the Bank Secrecy Act provisions of the US Patriot Act.
- Performing monthly audit report and submits to the COO.
- Provides yearly performance appraisals for branch staff, and acts as liaison between branch and main office staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Job Experience: Minimum five years Branch Manager experience in a financial institution. Knowledge of advanced cross servicing techniques to cross service to members competently. Must be able to impart these techniques to staff to foster an enthusiastic sales culture among staff. Requires thorough knowledge of credit union products to cross service effectively to members and to periodically train staff on specific products.
Software Skills: Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Physical Demands: Required to sit for extended periods and occasional walking to provide member services. Required to lift up to 50 lbs. (coin bags).
Work Conditions: Regular workday with occasional overtime. Noise level moderate to high in the immediate area and normal range of hearing necessary to communicate by telephone and in person with staff and members. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (robbery).
Other Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills required to resolve member/staff questions or problems. Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in handling cash, balancing a cash drawer and entering member transactions into the computer. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to represent the Credit Union professionally and positively to members and to interact daily with staff and management. Ability to exercise judgment and maintain confidentiality in dealing with membership and staff. Ability to complete or resume tasks despite interruptions.
Salary : $55,000 - $90,000
