Known for excellence and client advocacy, the firm is looking for a candidate who can oversee financial management, including trust accounting, multi-state payroll, and reporting.
This role also involves mentoring a small accounting team and providing financial insights to leadership. The ideal candidate should have their CPA, understanding of trust accounting, strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, and a proven ability to manage complex accounting tasks in a dynamic environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

Controller Responsibilities
- Oversee multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance.
- Manage and reconcile trust accounts per legal regulations.
- Ensure accurate financial data entry across departments.
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare financial statements.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Handle tax research, audits, and compliance updates.
- Collaborate with auditors and external advisors.
- Monitor financial metrics and provide insights to leadership.
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable via QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA required; MBA is a plus.
- At least 5 years of Controller-level experience, preferably in a law firm with 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com.
- Expertise in trust accounting and multi-state payroll.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
