Position summary
The Systems Engineer provides NWG Solutions clients with on-site and remote IT support for installation and maintenance of Microsoft Server and Workstation operating systems and applications in a LAN/WAN environment. Responsibilities include implementation of NWG Solutions market leading technology providing our clients with a full suite of remote services to facilitate hardware, software and network fault monitoring and resolution.
An NWG Solutions Systems Engineer provides our clients with critical on-site and remote IT support, including consultation, repair and maintenance of workstations, servers, and networking equipment, along with the implementation and management of NWG Solutions’ market-leading suite of monitoring and security services.
Primary responsibilities:
- Network design, installation and maintenance
- Data backup, recovery, and cloud-based storage management
- Implement and maintain Virtual Machine and Remote Desktop technology
- Anti-virus service, detection and remediation
- Microsoft Exchange and cloud email systems installation, migration and maintenance
- Implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including workstations, servers, and network.
- Administration of clients’ Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Sharepoint, and other centrally-managed products.
- Support client business-critical software and hardware
- Configuration and management of NWG Solutions’ monitoring and security services, including server and workstation hardware and operating system monitoring, anti-virus, and security update services
Professional Experience and Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in an IT support role
- Microsoft Server operating systems
- Unmanaged and managed switch technology supporting VLAN’s, subnets and VPNs
- Wireless network access point technology
- Experience with Microsoft Cloud Services
- Server, workstation and cloud-based email and office applications
- Vendor technology from Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Ubiquiti, RMM, etc.
- Microsoft and Cisco certifications preferred but not required
- Linux and OS X experience a plus
- At least 3-5 years’ experience in an IT support role
- Microsoft server and workstation operating systems
- Microsoft Active Directory administration
- Microsoft Exchange management
- An understanding of network management, including VLANs, VPNs, NATs, and firewall policies
- Microsoft Office 365 technology, including Exchange Online, Sharepoint Online, and Azure
- Must have a valid driver’s license
