Job Description: Cost Accountant
Location: On-Site in Saint Martin, Minnesota

Position Overview:
As a Cost Accountant, you will apply your expertise in cost accounting to implement and maintain detailed cost information. You will perform advanced analyses to compare standard costs to actual costs, preparing a variety of financial planning and analysis reports that support our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and compile cost information, ensuring accurate costing for our products.
- Maintain accurate standard costs, collaborating with Engineering, Procurement, Quality Control, and Operations teams.
- Conduct the annual cost roll, ensuring all material, labor, and overhead rates are calculated accurately and updated.
- Analyze and evaluate product costs monthly, identifying and understanding variances from standard, including scrap, re-work, deviations, and labor inefficiencies.
- Monitor and report on inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
- Conduct quarterly audits of the Cycle Count program and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Ensure accurate consumption and use of inventory in production, with appropriate valuation of all purchased materials or products, and explain monthly purchase price variances.
- Calculate the Excess and Obsolete Inventory Reserve quarterly.
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and other month-end duties.
- Produce and distribute bi-weekly labor efficiency and machine utilization reports.
- Review, analyze, and report on profit margins.
- Assist in costing for all New Product Development and Cost Out projects.
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Assist in the development of the company's costing processes, procedures, and systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Minimum of two years of experience in cost accounting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Previous experience working with a Standard Costing system.
- In-depth understanding of Material, Labor, and Overhead costing methodology.

Salary : $64,900 - $86,700
