The Program Department produces more than 130 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Programs annually, across many practice areas. Additionally, the Department hosts a wide array of specialized Annual Conferences — nationally renowned, prestigious annual events. The Business Development Team is charged with identifying, prospecting, developing and growing business relationships with law firms, corporations, government entities, and law schools — with the primary focus on securing sponsors, and continuously increasing revenue and visibility for our Program Department.
Job Function
The Business Development & Sponsorships Coordinator will be an integral part of the Business Development Team, and will assist with tasks as assigned — with the primary focus on coordinating a wide array of deliverables involved in a sponsorship campaign/business development project (i.e., generating leads, maintaining sponsor outreach lists, collecting sponsorship deliverables, updating sponsor-related prospectuses, issuing and tracking invoices, and other.)

The annualized salary for this role is in the $47,000 to $50,000 range based on a 35-hour work week, plus additional pay for hours worked over 35 each week. - Lead Generation & Data Entry: Research sources, identify leads, and create/update complex Excel-based contact lists for various sponsorship campaigns (i.e., CLE Conference sponsorships, Firm CLE Packages, Small Law Firm Symposium, Professional Development Workshop Series (PDW), New Lawyer Institute, and other).
- Sponsorship Deliverables: Correspond with sponsors regarding fulfillment of sponsorship contracts (i.e., creating invoices, tracking payments, collecting logos, ads, videos, swag, etc.) Review and ensure accuracy for conference-related sponsor graphics and posters, and other tasks as needed.
- Sponsorship Offerings: Assist in developing new and updating existing sponsorship prospectuses and brochures, and ensure accurate pricing, benefits, and specifications. Propose and draft sponsorship outreach email messages/templates.
- Client Meetings/Presentations: Assist with meeting preparation and presentation decks. Attend meetings/presentations and gather notes as needed.
- Firm CLE Packages – Account Management: Produce monthly CLE usage reports, distribute to customers, and maintain accurate internal records. Assist with account management in City Bar CRM database (i.e., updating contact information, adding/removing users, etc.) Correspond with account holders as needed.
- Event Management: Assist with preparation and attend sponsorship-related events, and other events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree, or higher, in business, marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales or marketing in a professional services environment.
- Strong computer skills (i.e., Excel, Word); CRM system experience a plus
- Understanding of the legal industry a plus.
- Must have a proactive approach with great drive, initiative, and be self-motivated.
- Excellent writing, presentation, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills are essential.
- A high level of emotional intelligence, collaborative style, and solid judgment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team player.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to adhere to deadlines.
- Solid ability to multitask and manage priorities.
- Flexibility to work early morning or evening hours, as needed, to attend City Bar events outside of general work hours.
