- All NYCPS students enter high school with skills in financial literacy and computational thinking and having explored careers of interest;
- All NYCPS graduates have foundational skills for career readiness, digital fluency, and financial literacy; a strong postsecondary plan; and early college credits/career credentials through the reimagining of the high school student experience. These skills and experiences will ensure students are prepared for economically secure and rewarding careers;
- At least 100,000 NYCPS high schoolers will be in high-quality, accelerated early college and career pathways; through these pathways students will get paid work experience in high-growth, high opportunity fields aligned to their career interests.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and facilitation of professional learning sessions focused on financial empowerment for K-12 NYCPS staff, with an emphasis on K-5 educators, administrators, and district leaders. Approach sessions with a strengths-based perspective, fostering endless possibilities for staff growth and impact.
- Assist with the development and delivery of workshops for parents and guardians to enhance their understanding of financial literacy and empowerment strategies, ensuring content is culturally relevant, accessible, and centered on kindness and equity.
- Support vetting financial literacy curriculum and resources for K-12 students to ensure alignment with NYCPS’ standards, financial empowerment goals, and principles of equity and inclusion.
- Collaborate with school, district, and central office teams to identify professional development needs and create tailored, human-centered plans to address those needs, supporting personal wellness and growth for all participants.
- Assist with the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of financial empowerment initiatives on student outcomes, staff capacity, and parent engagement, fostering curiosity and continuous improvement.
- Build knowledge base of financial empowerment best practices, emerging trends, and new resources in K-12 education, and share insights to inspire curiosity and innovation among stakeholders.
- Build partnerships with community organizations, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to enhance program offerings and provide additional support for schools and families, creating a diverse and active network of collaborators.
- Represent the team at relevant events and maintain close cooperation with local agencies and institutions.
- Provide technical assistance and training to school-based and central staff on integrating financial empowerment into instructional practices and student support services, ensuring a customer service-oriented and strengths-based approach.
- Collaborate on the development and distribution of tools, resources, and guidance documents to support schools in implementing financial empowerment initiatives, designed with human-centered and equity-driven principles.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of the communication plan to raise awareness about financial empowerment and literacy programs among staff, families, and the broader school community, fostering a spirit of fun and inclusion.
Minimum
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in education, finance, social work, or a related field, with at least two years of experience in community work or professional development to financial literacy or education.
- Experience designing and leading professional learning sessions for educators, administrators, and community stakeholders, particularly in a K-12 setting, with a human-centered, equity-driven, and inclusive approach.
- Experience developing and implementing workshops for parents and guardians, with a focus on financial empowerment, family engagement, and fostering kindness and equity.
- Strong understanding of financial literacy concepts, including saving, budgeting, credit, and investing, and their application in educational contexts, with a strengths-based and customer service mindset.
- Proven ability to build diverse partnerships that enhance program impact.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate multiple initiatives simultaneously while considering personal wellness and team growth.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including educators, families, and community organizations, through kindness and curiosity.
- Experience using data to inform program improvements and decision-making, ensuring equity and inclusion are at the forefront of all recommendations.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across K-12 levels while maintaining a primary focus on K-5 programming, with a commitment to creating a fun and supportive environment.
- An understanding of the needs of Save for College Program schools and partners.
- Articulates an educational philosophy that all students can succeed given the right support.
- Ability to network with community resources and negotiate with mission-aligned partners external to the NYCPS.
- Ability to proactively identify key issues, work under pressure, and meet frequent and changing deadlines.
- Interest in social media, new technology tools, platforms, and marketing strategies.
