Position Summary: The Training and Development Coordinator, under the direction of the Executive Director of Strategy, Communications, and Organizational Effectiveness (SCOE) in the Division of Human Resources (DHR), with latitude for independent initiative and judgment, performs highly responsible work. The role involves planning, organizing, and implementing training programs as requested by DHR senior leadership.
The Training and Development Coordinator designs curricula, develops training materials, and delivers training sessions through a Learning Management System and in professional development workshops as needed. Additionally, they evaluate the effectiveness of programs to ensure that employees meet performance goals and that these programs align with DHR’s objectives. Also, the Training and Development Coordinator supports strategic priorities and initiatives while collaborating with internal stakeholders to address relevant training needs.
This position often requires collaboration with managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to customize training based on specific strategic priorities and the audience's needs. Performs related work.

Key Relationships: Collaborates closely with the Executive Director, the SCOE Team, and senior leadership within DHR to coordinate targeted training projects that utilize Learning Management Systems. Maintains regular communication with leaders across various offices to ensure alignment and continuous collaboration on training initiatives within DHR.

Responsibilities
- Developing comprehensive training plans that address the needs of the DHR and the skill gaps of employees by utilizing Pro-Learner, a learning management system.
- Coordinating the logistics for training events, which includes scheduling, booking venues, and preparing materials, or using ProTraxx event management software for registration and event management.
- Leading training sessions and workshops either in person or online and collaborating with external trainers and subject matter experts as needed.
- Performing needs assessments through surveys, interviews, and analysis of performance data to identify areas requiring improvement.
- Measuring the success and impact of training programs by assessing results, gathering feedback, and analyzing performance metrics.
- Regularly updating training content to remain aligned with industry trends and best practices.
- Ensuring all training materials comply with relevant regulations while maintaining accurate training records.
Minimum
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two (2) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above. However, all candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience as described in “1” above.
In addition to meeting the minimum requirements, individuals must have two additional years of the experience described in "1" above.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Proficient in the following:
- Learning Management Systems (LMS): Platforms like Canvas and Pro-Learner to help manage, deliver, and track training programs.
- E-learning Authoring Tools: Software such as Adobe Captivate for creating interactive online training content.
- Video Conferencing Tools: Platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams enable virtual training sessions and remote collaboration.
- Project Management Tools: Software like MS Lists helps in planning and tracking training projects and activities.
- Content Management Systems: Tools such as SharePoint for organizing and maintaining training materials and resources.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills are necessary for creating clear and engaging training materials and for effectively delivering training sessions.
- The ability to manage multiple training programs, schedules, and details simultaneously and able to work under pressure and meet frequent and changing deadlines.
- Building and maintaining relationships with employees, management, senior staff and external trainers.
- Assessing training needs, measuring program effectiveness, and making data-driven improvements.
- Designing engaging and innovative training programs that cater to various learning styles.
- Ensuring accuracy in training materials and records and can prioritize and remain professional in demanding situations.
- Familiarity with various training tools and technologies.
