Field Operations Training Manager, Bureau of Emergency Field Operations

Established in 1805, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (the NYC Health Department) is the oldest and largest health department in the country. OEPR's employees are expected to align their work with OEPR's efforts to combat the harmful effects of systemic injustices on communities and work towards the most equitable post-disaster public health outcomes possible.

Duties Will Include But Not Be Limited To

• Manage two Training Coordinators to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.
• Supervise the design and development of emergency field operations training programs and associated materials.
• Coordinate with contractors to develop new training materials.
• Oversee the coordination and delivery of training programs.
• Work closely with the emergency field operations planners and external stakeholders to ensure training program is up to date and complies with current response plans.
• Supervise the development and implementation of a training program evaluation framework.
• Oversee the monitoring of employee performance and compliance to training programs.
• Serve as lead facilitator for all trainings and spearhead facilitator recruitment, onboarding and engagement.
• Assist in the development and implementation of a facilitator evaluation program.
• Serve in an emergency role for a public health emergency, as needed. Participate in Bureau-led emergency drills and exercises.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• 3-4 years of training experience or instructional design and development
• 1-2 years of experience working in emergency management
• Exceptional writing, communications and interpersonal skills
• Excellent presentation, group facilitation and public speaking abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
• Creative and strategic problem-solving capabilities
• Familiarity with LMS platforms such as Articulate360 and Samaritan
