The New York County District Attorney’s Office (DANY) has an opening for an IT Systems Engineer/Administrator in its IT/Network Services Unit. This position is responsible for providing network operations and administration support to the unit and office. The IT Systems Engineer/Administrator plays a crucial role in assisting with designing, administering, implementing, and maintaining DANY’s information technology systems.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Support of all network operations and administration.
- Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.
- Assist the help desk and other teams with troubleshooting to identify root cause and provide technical support when needed.
- Monitor data-center health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed.
- Administration and Configuration of Microsoft Server operating system.
- Creating, Supporting, Configuration of Active Directory.
- Administration of Microsoft Exchange O365.
- Microsoft Azure administration.
- Assist in Data Backup and Tape management.
- Ability to participate in high level meetings and understand the needs to offer solutions.
- Performs related duties as needed.
- 2 - 6 years of full-time professional experience working with enterprise networking equipment depending on education.
- 2 – 3 years of Microsoft server administration.
- Possess a general fluency with computer applications and electronic devices and a readiness to quickly learn about and adapt to rapid changes in technology and computer systems.
- Knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SANS).
- Working knowledge of PC and related devices troubleshooting techniques and strategies. Understanding of Windows Active Directory, permission groups and scripting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related applications.
- Good understanding of network concepts such as TCP/IP protocols DHCP and DNS.
- Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.
- Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; detail oriented and self-motivated and able to manage multiple short-term projects.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of staff and vendors.
- Knowledge of VMWARE products and services.
- Linux experience.

- Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing. In addition, must meet the minimum and additional qualifications of the position.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
