Job Details:
As a Middle School Subject Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing students in a specialized subject area (Math, ELA, Science, History) during these critical transitional years. You will help bridge the gap between elementary education and high school, fostering critical thinking, academic curiosity, and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant technology to support instruction.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid New York State Teaching Certification.
- At least two years of teaching experience in an elementary setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and the latest educational theories and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
