The Team You’ll Work With
The Mayor’s Office Human Resources Department is responsible for creating a dynamic workplace that
assists with all aspects of employee development. The department works as a strategic partner to
provide workforce and organizational capabilities that support the overall functionality of the agency.
Through recruitment efforts, and offering special programming and development opportunities, HR
aims at helping new employees make the transition into their positions and supporting hiring
managers who are building collaborative teams. In all, Human Resources works to create a workplace
where the staff are engaged, connected, and provided with the resources to thrive.
The Problems You’ll Solve
The Human Resources Business Partner – Special Programming, under the direction of the Associate
Director of Compliance and Programs, will plan, manage, and administer various human resources
programs. They will also assist with HR reporting and compliance efforts/projects.
I. Office of the Mayor’s Internship Program
- Manage and lead the recruitment and onboarding of the Internship Program.
- Update onboarding documents tracker, and training materials accordingly.
- Screen, vet, and onboard approximately 100 interns annually.
- Review of all paperwork including applications, tax documents, and I-9 with supporting
- Coordinate and liaise with DCAS to ensure the registration and completion of background
- Conduct orientations, training, and editing presentations as necessary.
- Plan and organize intern service projects, events, speaker series, and training for the
- Develop strategies to improve the Internship Program and/or process.
- Develop and manage the Mayor’s Office Internship intranet and internet pages/sites.
- Manage and maintain Internship Program Standard Operating Procedures.
- Represent the Mayor’s Office at job fairs.
II. Fellowship (Paid, Academic & Urban) Civics Corps & SYEP Programs
- Manage and lead the onboarding and offboarding of the Fellowship (Paid, Academic &
Urban) Civics Corps & SYEP Programs.
- Complete all data entry (onboarding and offboarding) for staff in these programs.
- Manages the process for creating and maintaining Fellowship Standard Operating
Procedures.
III. NYCity Learn Training Liaison
- Oversee the management of training requests from staff in the NYCity Learn system.
- Create user accounts for all new hires (including interns) in NYCity Learn.
- Follow up with Fiscal to ensure funding for at-cost training.
- Liaise with DCAS, as needed, to ensure the registration and completion of training.
IV. Human Resources Newsletters
- Create monthly HR newsletters for Heritage months, holidays, etc.

(AANHPI) Heritage Month Native American Heritage Month
LGBTQ Pride Month Jewish Heritage Month

V. Office of the Mayor's Office Graduate Scholarship Program
- Oversee the management of the Mayor’s Office Graduate Scholarship program.
- Ensure all submitted applications are complete and ready for submittal.
- Create and send out communication to all staff regarding the program.
- Serve as the Point of Contact, answering questions as they arise.
I. Compliance/Reporting
- Assist the Associate Director of Compliance and Programs with employee compliance and
reporting efforts for various HR-related programs/tasks.
II. Other Projects/Duties as assigned
About You
- You have a Bachelor’s degree (required). A minimum of three (3) years experience working
- You are a self-starter who is extremely organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage

Salary
The City of New York Office of the Mayor’s compensation package includes a market competitive
salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role
is $90,000 to $95,000.
Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on candidate experience and expertise, and other
factors.

New York City Residency Is Required Within 90 Days of Appointment
