Responsible for supporting the Senior Manager to evaluate, design, optimize, execute, measure and monitor key SCA business processes, policies, procedures and guidelines across all departments as assigned.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Thinks critically about existing business processes to fully understand each step in the process and why each exists (the value added by each additional step) to facilitate collaborative analysis with SCA stakeholders around opportunities for improvement.
- Drafts policies for various business processes with narrative, flowcharts, forms, manuals and other documentation outlining current processes in order to enable training, knowledge transfer, and succession planning.
- Uses such documents in conjunction with data and other information, including industry best practices, to identify opportunities to make improvements to one or more steps to improve productivity, reduce costs, improve time management, mitigate risk or make other needed changes.
- Works closely with SCA stakeholders to learn their process, implement needed changes and manage implementation of projects through completion; acts independently to identify gaps in process documentation and takes proactive steps to address them.
- Proactively and continuously follows up on projects in order to get them done.
- Leverages knowledge within Operations to move projects ahead.
- Independently tracks progress on assigned projects and reports back to Senior Manager current status, next steps, and roadblocks.
- Performs related tasks, as assigned.
- Baccalaureate from a four-year college or university and
- Two to four years of full-time analytical and communications experience; or a satisfactory combination of education and experience
- The preferred candidate will be curious about and willing to learn the principles and practices of business process optimization.
- The candidate also will have the ability to perform research and analyses; prepare written and oral reports; create and maintain an effective record-keeping system; coordinate effectively with all SCA departments; and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with SCA leadership, administrators and employees.
- Weighted consideration will be given to candidates with major course or professional work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
- Individuals with experience in explanatory or investigative journalism or business analysis in an IT setting are also invited to apply.
- Experience with Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Preferred but not required, one or more of the following designation(s): PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodology certification.
