Payroll & HR Specialist for our home office located in Fremont, NE. The Payroll
& HR Specialist will lead the execution of the bi-weekly payroll process
for all Nye Health Services businesses including data entry and integrity into
the company HRIS, ADP Workforce Now. The ideal candidate for this role will
enjoy working with front-line team members and leadership to help the

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a deep and broad understanding of the
Company’s HR/Payroll and timekeeping systems, currently ADP Workforce Now.
- Responsible for processing bi-weekly company payroll for exempt
and non-exempt staff across seven businesses in Nebraska, verifying all pay
rates, garnishments, benefits, etc. are calculated correctly for each employee.
- Form and maintain effective partnerships with HR, Scheduling, Finance,
and Campus HR Coordinators to develop a clear and effective process for campus
level data management and centralized payroll processing.
- Effectively administer garnishment deductions/submittals and
similar related withholding orders.
- Become a subject matter expert on all state-by-state regulations
such as minimum wages, state leave deductions, SUI % requirements etc.
- Review pre-transmittal payroll records for accuracy (employee
change reports, payroll registers, exceptions and/or corrections).
- Effectively manage ongoing tax related activities within ADP
including new state applications, quarterly and annual payroll related
reporting, W2 processing, etc.
- Ensure a high degree of consistency and uniformity with how
information/data is recorded across all entities.
- Partner with the Benefits & Payroll Manager and Campus HR Coordinators
to ensure proper administration of leave of absence pay implications.
- Ensure conformance to Company policies (proper administration of
employee classifications, paid time off policies, application of pay and/or
overtime, reimbursements, deductions, etc.).
- Proactively problem solve on a variety of payroll related matters.
Ensure full optimization of HRIS capabilities while also identifying and
recommending updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Actively engage in any applicable merger and acquisition
initiatives including due diligence and payroll processing integrations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to
customer service by ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and
requests from employees.
- Promote a positive work
environment by partnering with leaders and employees to live out the Mission,
Vision, and Values of Nye Health Services.
- Assist with the development,
automation, implementation and management of various HR initiatives (i.e.,
annual performance review process, benefits open enrollment, new
programs/policies, etc.)
- Ensure proper maintenance
of confidential employee information.
- Assist as needed with
talent acquisition efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and
interview coordination.
- Assist in creating, reviewing and maintaining job descriptions.
- Perform system and file audits ensuring data accuracy and
compliance.
- Serve as a cross-trained back-up on benefits administration
processes in partnership with the Benefits & Payroll Manager.
Education, Skills & Experience
- Associate’s degree, preferably in business administration or HR,
or equivalent experience
- One to three years’ experience and working knowledge in HR or
Payroll.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now HRM, Essential Time, and Payroll
preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, and labor
relations and regulations including ERISA, EEOC and DOL preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work under pressure of recurring
deadlines, such as payroll week, and during peak periods, such as year-end.
- Must be computer proficient, with intermediate knowledge of
Microsoft Office Suite applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must have a customer-focused attitude, with high level of
professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to effectively coach and influence others.
- Must be self-motivated and able to effectively work independently.
- Adaptable and eager to work collaboratively to achieve department
goals and improve internal processes.
- Able to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet
deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
