What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at Nyfa?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Assistant to join our team. The HR Assistant will support various human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and HRIS management (Paycom). The ideal candidate will assist in creating a seamless employee experience, ensuring compliance, and providing timely and accurate information to employees.
This role is fully on-site, requiring the selected candidate to work in our Burbank office Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (8 hours per day).
Job Description
- Assist with the recruitment process, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and conducting background checks
- Facilitate new hire orientations for faculty and staff
- Prepare and send offer letters and new hire paperwork
- Maintain employee I-9 records in compliance with regulations
- Support HR audits and reporting processes
- Keep all personnel files current and update the HRIS (Paycom) as needed
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding company policies procedures
- Other duties as assigned by the HR Director
Experience, Education, and Certification:
- 1-2 year(s) of experience as HR Assistant
- Certification or Associates degree or perusing education in HR field
Knowledge and Competencies:
- Experience with Google Suite, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Quick learner with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Able to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Familiarity with CA labor laws (NY is a plus).
- Experience with Paycom (preferred)
