Primary Role:
The Recruiting Assistant provides administrative support to the recruiting team by assisting with the hiring process, managing candidate information, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the recruitment cycle. This position plays a key role in facilitating communication with candidates, scheduling interviews, and maintaining accurate records.

- Develop and implement recruiting plans and strategies designed to fulfill company staffing needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs.
- Posting job openings on various job boards and NYOS website.
- Review resumes and applications to identify potential candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screenings of candidates.
- Making recommendations to hiring managers
- Following up on the interview process status
- Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
- Maintaining relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
- Communicating employer information and benefits during the screening process
- Staying current on the company’s organization structure, personnel policy, federal and state laws regarding employment practices
- Serving as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
- Involvement in networking events, job fairs, and other programs
- Prepare and send interview confirmation emails and follow-up correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Communicate with candidates to provide status updates and ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Handle pre-employment tasks such as reference checks, background checks, and job offers.
- Assist with onboarding documentation and coordination.
- Support the Human Resource team with administrative tasks and reporting as needed.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in administrative support, HR, or recruiting preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)and familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.

Essential Function
Physical abilities include but are not limited to being able to communicate information clearly as well as the ability to see objects at a close range and at a distance, in order to establish and maintain safe and effective working relationships with staff and students.
