Nystrom & Associates is adding a TMS Patient Advocate to our TMS team! The TMS Patient Advocate will be responsible for day-to-day interaction and treatment of our patients with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). In addition, they will administer the necessary operational aspects of the program including, scheduling, tracking insurance authorizations, administering psychiatric rating scales, and patient charting. Location : Eden Prairie, MN, on-site Schedule : Monday - Friday, general daytime hours FTE : 1.0 (40 hours per week) Responsibilities : Greet, check-in, and room patients for TMS treatment. Set up new patient and work side-by-side with provider to assist during initial treatment mapping. Administer TMS treatments according to specific physician protocols. Set up the TMS medical device and monitor all aspects of the treatment sessions for patient comfort and treatment accuracy. Provide excellent patient care and treat patients with compassion while developing trust and rapport. Provide support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients struggling with depression and / or anxiety. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment. Observe patients while in treatment and identify any changes that may require clinician or the Program Practice Leader involvement. Administer psychiatric rating scales and counsel patients on completion of scales. Record session notes, patient treatment history, vital signs, allergies / contraindications, track insurance authorizations, and schedule patient visits using EMR (Electronic Medial Records) and medical scheduling software. Ensure patients complete their course of treatment. Perform reminder calls to patients when required. Oversee patient communication both during and post-treatment course. Assist in establishing and monitoring performance indicators.
