Custodial Worker

The custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of a building and the surrounding grounds. Their duties include vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash to ensure the building’s occupants have a clean space.

Job Duties:

• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors

• Refill restroom dispensers

• Respond to client needs and requests.

• Check, restock and maintain supply closets.

• Work outside to remove snow, ice and debris from entrances, steps and sidewalks using various tools and products.

• Complete and document daily routine responsibilities on the unit

• Cleans, dusts, and waxes furniture and fixtures.

• Maintains a clean and orderly supply closet.

• Cleans walls, inside of windows and other glass surfaces, partitions and doors in facilities using various cleaning solutions, wash towels, sponges and other cleaning products.

• Operates vacuum cleaners and shampoo equipment and solvents to vacuum and chemically clean carpeted areas in office areas of facilities.

• Removes litter, debris and fluids from building floors and vestibules in response to requests for clean ups during the course of the day.

• Wipes and cleans table tops, chairs and office furniture

• Cleans and disinfects hand rails.

• Vacuum and spot clean carpet

• Dispose of trash and clean trash containers

• Perform periodical services such as stripping and waxing tile, deep cleaning carpets and cleaning windows.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

• Ability to lift and move over 50 pounds.

• Knowledge of different cleaning products and tools

• Time-management and multitasking abilities

• Physical strength and stamina

• Organization skills

• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Ability to pass a DHS background check.

• Ensure adherence to Nystrom Alcohol and Drug Testing Policy
