Position Summary :
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director - Diversity & Inclusion.
The Director for Diversity and Inclusion at NYU Grossman School of Medicine is a dynamic leader responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Office of Diversity Affairs (ODA). The Director serves as a key driver and advisor, championing the institution's dedication to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment within medical education. Leveraging extensive expertise in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), the Director drives initiatives to cultivate a culture of belonging and excellence for all stakeholders, including students, house staff, faculty, and education staff. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, this position serves as an institutional DEI leader, guiding efforts to promote DEI and shape inclusive excellence across NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Job Responsibilities :
Office and Financial Management :
- Support and collaborate with the Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion to provide strategic direction in developing and implementing policies, programs, curricula, initiatives, and strategies that promote DEI and health equity education across all stages of the medical education continuum, including pre-college, pre-medical and medical students, house staff, and faculty.
- Oversee daily management and operations of the ODA, leading 10 team members in the implementation of curricula, programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Oversee all financial aspects, including annual budget preparation, monitoring, external grant management, vendor payments, and gift development, while forecasting anticipated changes across operating, grant, and cost-share budgets.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean and faculty directors to identify and pursue grant, publication, and gift development opportunities.
- Oversee office web and social media presence and ensure visibility of NYUGSOMs diverse and inclusive community.
- Lead the annual office retreat to foster team cohesion and alignment with organization objectives.
- Develop methods of evaluation and assessment of programs to track progress of the activities of the Office of Diversity Affairs.

Minimum Qualifications :
To qualify you must have a Masters degree in Educational Administration, Public Policy, Health Administration or related field. Three or more years experience in an academic graduate institution interacting with students, faculty and a diverse constituency preferred. Time spent in supervisory capacity. Experience serving as a representative of senior management to the broader organization and other stakeholders. Excellent presentation, networking and verbal and written communications skills require; advanced project management skills including the ability to adapt to a changing environment managing a wide variety of projects.
Preferred Qualifications :
Five or more years experience in an academic graduate institution interacting with students, faculty and a diverse constituency preferred. Experience with counseling students.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $117,107.95 - $164,732.90 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
