What are the responsibilities and job description for the Memorial Marker Sales Specialist position at O'Connor Mortuary?

Responsibilities
- Learn the specific details of products as well as policies of local cemeteries.
- Sales of granite, bronze memorial markers, marker enhancements and benches.
- Process existing memorial stone orders sold by arrangers.
- Set design appointments with families who have or want to purchase the marker.
- Present upgrade opportunities to families who have already purchased markers. Upgrade opportunities include:
- Edge type.
- Photo Tiles.
- Size and color of stone.
- Custom designs.
- Coordinate the ordering process and tracking with Blackstone and Matthews or other product vendors.
- Manage and maintain tracking in Teams tools such as:
- Excel spread sheets.
- Provider’s order forms.
- Individual client folders with up-to-date layout revisions allowing seamless transition to back-up colleagues.
- Manage and maintain tracking in Teams tools such as:
- New business generation
- Telephone follow up with families we have served who have not purchased a marker but are candidates for a marker. Utilizing Passare, Excel and other tools to track these potential sales.
- Provide marketing materials to El Toro Memorial Park for marker and bench sales.
Rate of Pay, Schedule and Compensation
- Rate of pay will be $23.00 per hour; $34.50 per hour Overtime. Pay day is bi-weekly.
- Works hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am- 5:00pm. This role requires in person office attendance.
- A $25.00 monthly phone allowance.
- Commission on new marker, bench sales and upgrades to existing orders based on the following commission structure based on quarterly sales:
- 8% of sales.
- Quarterly Incentive – additional 2% paid on quarterly sales if quarterly sales reached $25,000.00.
- Commission will be paid quarterly based on the net sale price after any discount. Commission will not be paid on sales tax, setting fees or any sale that is given to the customer at cost.
- Orders must be paid in full to be eligible for commission
Dress Code Attire
- Professional dress attire required. Clothing allowance will be provided based on start date.
