Job Description:
O’Connor Plumbing is looking for a full-time Estimator to join our Commercial Service team. The Estimator is responsible for preparing/coordinating the preparation of full estimates on service work by producing estimates, soliciting supplier bids and proposals for labor/material/equipment and evaluates proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirements. The Estimator must have plumbing experience, preferably in commercial service. This position is mostly office work with information brought in by supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop scope of work, qualifications, and exclusions for cost estimating of proposed project
- Collects detailed and accurate contact info to include company name, property name, contact name, address of work site, phone numbers and emails
- Review contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and scope changes
- Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data, procedures, and methods in order to maintain current estimating standards and databases
- Communicate with customers asking for proposals to determine if T&M or estimates are the best option
- Works with field staff on scope, material, labor, and all other associated information for the most accurate bid possible
- Send out material to three vendors before every bid
- Maintain estimates folder and update jobs as scope and material changes while saving all previous bid information
What You Need:
- Plumbing experience, preferably in commercial service work
- Self-Starter with strong customer service skills
- Energetic with a positive attitude
- Organized, with a strong passion for success
- Journeyman/Master license a plus
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access)
- Team player that works well with others.
