What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Manager position at O-Flex Group, Inc.?
The Quality Manager is a "Hands on Manager" responsible for leading the overall quality of product and processes within the plant. The Quality Manager serves as Management Representative for the Business System. The Quality Manager is responsible for effective implementation of the Continuous Improvement program demonstrating proper use of Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administers and follows all company policies including Safety, Quality, and Environmental.
- Supports Strategic Goals and Objectives in the performance of daily activities.
- Participates as an active member of the Management Staff; including determination, tracking, analysis, and monthly reporting of Key Measurables.
- Champion of ERP & Manufacturing Cloud in daily quality functions and continuous improvement activity.
- Works with the Director of Operations to update and maintain the Business System to meet requirements of IATF16949 and ISO14001
- Key Processes owner of Quality Assurance areas including Nonconformance, Corrective Action, Internal Audit, Calibration, Document Control, and Management Review.
- Provide timely disposition of suspect parts along with respective records, correspondence, and returns using PLEX.
- Tracking, reporting, and analysis of internal and external scrap and defect including First Pass Yield and Cost of Poor Quality.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts to reduce Scrap, Defect, and Cost of Poor Quality rates and increase First Pass Yield utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Maintains Document Control system including Business System documentation, Supplier Quality Assurance Manuals, and Customer Specific Requirements
- Leader of the Internal Auditing Process, including Manufacturing Process Audits, Product Audits, Business System audits, and customer/industry specific audits such as CQI-12.
- Facilitates cross-functional APQP/PPAP processes. Works closely with managers from Team Feasibility, through Project Launch, PPAP Approval, and Phase outs.
- Creates, Maintain, and Improve Process Flow diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans and Checksheets utilizing ERP
- Responsible for Supervision, Development and Evaluation of the Quality Engineers and Technicians
- Maintains working knowledge of current Customer Specific requirements and ensures organizational compliance
Education, Training, & Experience:
- BS degree in Engineering or related field (Quality/Industrial Disciplines) Master's Preferred or equivalent experience
- Five plus (5 ) years' experience in the Automotive Industry (Management & Supervisory experience preferred)
- Experience and Ability to interpret Technical Standards and drawings
- Experience and understanding using AIAG core tools
- Experience with class A surfaces, coatings, and fabrication helpful
- Data Analytics, Business Intelligence experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation of data to a wide range of audiences
- Stays calm under pressure and uses data over emotions to support a case.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and demonstrate effective time management abilities.
