Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operating Foreman to oversee and coordinate excavation and forestry activities on-site. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of Excavation, Road Maintenance, forestry, and demolition processes, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. As a Working Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising team members, managing schedules, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle, as well as operating various pieces of heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations on the job site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, schedule, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop schedules and budgets that align with project goals.
- Read and interpret schematics, contracts, and blueprints to guide work processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed by team members to ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Manage documentation related to project progress \
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of budgeting principles related to construction projects.
- Familiarity with forest road maintenance and construction processes is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents including schematics and contracts.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work performed.
