Excavation Foreman

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking an Excavation and Utility Foreman for a long-term role with a small excavation and utility company in Portland, OR with stable and year-round work. The Foreman is responsible for managing the daily operations and organization of a construction project. This will require extensive experience with all facets of the construction process including reading construction plans and drawings. The foreman schedules the crew, assigns daily tasks, plans for equipment mobilization, oversees the budget, controls quality and solves problems.



Pay: $40-$45/hr



Excavation Foreman Responsibilities:

• Supervise crews consisting of two to six laborers and/or equipment operators

• Interpret project plans and specifications

• Communicate with job site superintendents

• Schedule daily workflow and equipment mobilization

• Perform physical work such as heavy equipment operating, pipe laying and labor

• Perform minor equipment maintenance

• Work efficiently to meet strict deadlines

• Adhere to workplace safety and environmental practices

Excavation Foreman Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License

• Good driving record

• Reliable transportation

• Thorough understanding of both pipe and excavation

• Thorough understanding of setting and checking grades

• Proficiency at operating excavation equipment

• Ability to read and understand construction documents

• Ability to communicate with customers and employees both verbally and in writing

• Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening that includes Marijuana

• Mechanical ability

• CDL A is a plus
