The Material Handler in this position will support manufacturing by performing a specific and supportive role that allows production personnel/operators to focus on tasks that create products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Work under direct supervision.
- Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
- Operate centerless, cylindrical, external, internal, surface grinders, sanders and related equipment
- Perform hand operations such as disc grinding, finish sanding, filing, de-burring, cleaning, etc.
- Maximize efficiency at each work center by moving materials, WIP, foam blocks, and finished goods into and out of work centers and departments.
- Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes or other material handling equipment to move material to within the premises.
- Assist with assembly and related finishing of cabinets based on production demand.
- Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
- Read and interpret job specs or blueprints to assemble prototype or production orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Simple problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to operate forklift and cranes.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
- Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints preferred.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

- Monday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM
- Tuesday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM
- Wednesday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM
- Thursday - 5:30AM to 4:00PM
- Friday - As Needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
- Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist and stoop for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout the course of a shift.
- Have good vision with or without corrective lenses.
- Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
- Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises and vibration from use of equipment.
