The MIG/TIG Welder will join, fabricate, and repair aluminum and stainless-steel parts by using specialized gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate MIG/TIG welding techniques.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding process.
- Manufacture fixtures and prepare welding set up per safety guidelines.
- Interprets mechanical drawings including weld requirement symbology.
- Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments.
- Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Finish product through use of various manual and power grinding tools.
- Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment.
- Produces products in allotted time frame/ delivery standard.
- Ability to pass required welding certification tests.
- Work with department computers entering data.
- Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
- Other duties as assigned
2nd Shift - Overtime availability is subject to production schedule.
- Monday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
- Tuesday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
- Wednesday - 4:00 PM to 2:30A M
- Thursday - 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
- Friday - As Needed
- Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
- Ability to TIG weld stainless-steel and aluminum materials.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and bander.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper, and micrometer.
- Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
- Ability to convert metric to English.
- Provide high-quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
- Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Must pass weld test certification.
- Robotic welding experience is a plus.
- Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.
