DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with vineyard monitoring, including tracking phenological stages and sampling grapes for harvest.
- Perform fruit sorting, processing, and manual techniques such as foot stomping.
- Participate in fermentation management, including inoculation, pump-overs, and punch-downs.
- Conduct equipment sanitation, ensuring all machinery and tools are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Support wine and must movements, including racking and transfers.
- Conduct barrel work, including filling, topping, and maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the winery, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Engage in team discussions, tastings, and educational opportunities to expand winemaking knowledge.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends, to support harvest demands from August through mid-November.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

- A degree (or pursuit of a degree) in Enology, Viticulture, or a related field, or previous harvest experience.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and taking on additional responsibilities.
- High ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:
- Able to lift 50 lbs, frequently and more than 50 lbs occasionally
- Able to stand for long periods on hard and sometimes slippery surfaces
- Required to work 6 days/week at times and longer than normal business hours.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work occurs indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, ranging from cool to hot.
- Noise levels are typically moderate, with fluctuations to high occasionally.
- Floors may be slippery – proper footwear is required.
- Works in close proximity to others and around machinery with moving parts.
