What are the responsibilities and job description for the Awards Specialist I position at O'Reilly Automotive Stores?
Prepare and assemble various types of awards, plaques, and trophies as directed by department manager. Package awards to be used by customers and vendors at car shows, races and events. Distribute awards to stores and distribution centers, etc. via internal carrier or UPS/common carrier.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepare and assemble various types of awards as directed by department management.
Responsible for using and understanding the departmental software available to design the engravings needed for plaques and trophies that will be available at events.
Proof award plates prior to engraving and upon completion to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Verify and confirm incoming orders through email and/or company ticketing system.
Assist in transferring data to master spreadsheet for proper distribution.
Within the warehouse empty pallet and remove scrap metal. Retrieve extra shredded paper for packing material.
Monitor and maintain stock levels for trophy columns and plaque plates.
Package awards accordingly for shipping via common carrier or internal carrier depending on location. Label packages accurately and neatly for transit. Send tracking confirmation for orders to recipient through company ticketing system.
Assist in assembling awards (trophies, plaques, plates, etc.).
Perform general housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment for all team members.
Assist with miscellaneous projects and overflow as assigned.
Responsible for operating powered equipment – Motorized Hand Jack as needed to move product.
Assist with loading the daily UPS or common carrier trucks to ensure all orders are distributed correctly.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills
Basic computer, email and office equipment (printer, scanner, fax, etc.) skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to climb stairs and lift boxes as needed
Excellent customer service skills
Desired:
Some college or vocational/technical training with emphasis in graphic design
1-2 years design experience including Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Microsoft Office
Previous mailing experience (UPS, USPS, and common carrier)
Prior power equipment experience, including Motorized Rider, Walkie, Pallet Jack and/or forklift
